"As people born in Rovaniemi, it has been important for us to live close to forest and water. When we had the opportunity to buy this plot of land, we didn't think twice. Despite the busyness of everyday life, in this nest of ours we have relaxed, adapted to the natural conditions and recharged our mental batteries.

The open view to the northern horizon left us speechless at the first sight and even now our hearts beat with joy and amazement as we watch the spectacle of nature coming from beyond the horizon all year round. We are very grateful, few local residents get to experience nature and our 8 seasons as we have, observing the wonders of the earth and sky from the living room window 24/7 and stepping through the door directly into nature's embrace.“

Nina served as the house's architect in 2019. During the years 2022-2023, the house has experienced a transformation from a home to a place to do business: "It was clear to us that we didn't want to keep this privilege only to ourselves. Now our property is used as an accommodation and for local experiences. We have moved to live elsewhere near by." Nina, mother of four, has worked as an entrepreneur in house construction since 2017. Now she and her husband are expanding the business into tourism.

"The key principal for us is that we serve one private group of travelers at a time. We are here to listen and meet people genuinely. We don't just work, we also get experiences for ourselves."

Here humans and animals live in harmony together: "Life here has been international for many years even before we came. Finland's national bird, swan couple return to our beach every spring, love and raise 3-4 baby swans under our window and leave in the fall. We hope they have a safe flight to south and that we'll meet again after the cold winter," sighs Nina with a smile and continues:

"We all have our dear homes but every now and then it is refreshing to experience places elsewhere".

Admiring the landscape is wonderful and relaxing.

At the same time, you can also tinker in the local way.

The company also offers experiences and tours. The activities are the same that the local people are used to in the area: swimming in lake either in summer or winter, wood fired sauna, barbecue, fishing with a rod or angling, ice fishing, stand up paddling or rowing on the summer lake. You may also walk or slide with snowshoes in the near forest.

"It is important for us to be who we are, to show how we’ve always lived here. Luxury exists in different ways in different parts of the world. We show what it is to us here in Finnish Lapland where we get to take life slow in this clean and safe environment. This culture of our’s we pass on from generation to generation through our children", says Krisse, lodge co-owner and your vacation host (concierge).

Environmentally speaking

Nature first. Then us.

Lodge’s location is very close to Rovaniemi airport and the Arctic Circle. It takes only 12 minutes to drive from our peace to Rovaniemi city center or Santa Claus Village, where you will find plenty of different activities.

Stay in our villa is mostly based on relaxing and low pace living. Activities we organize on site are noiseless. Instead of engines, we use our muscle power as we walk with our snow shoes on to the lake and fish on ice. Or we play with the snow. Or we Sauna. We listen to silence and we gaze at the stars.

Your host Krisse wants to challenge you to take part in our local home life style, that is for example making fire in sauna stove. Or cook a local ingredients dinner together.
